Although I did study at drama school and worked commercially I never truly became an actor until I started The Actors’ Temple in 2003 and began to work with Tom Radcliffe. Previously I had served as an Army Officer and worked as a personal trainer, yet it took me several years before I realised I needed to apply those principals of training to my acting.  As well as running the company, I have been teaching at the Temple for eight years now.  The courses I run reflect my move back towards the world of commercial acting and my desire to help actors get the most out of the chances that come their way.  I only teach at weekends allowing me to attend castings and meetings myself during the week.  I am also developing and writing a TV series.  My professional credits include: Hamlet, Peep Show, Primeval, The Wind That Shakes The Barley, Eastenders, Doctors, Footballers Wives, Band of Brothers.

COURSE INFORMATION

INTRODUCTION COURSE

Initially, everyone who wishes to train with me will need to attend an introduction course.  These take place over two consecutive weekends and will introduce you to the basic principals behind our work in a practical way.  It is a powerful course which will help eliminate the thoughts and ideas that hold you back. The result is the unleashing of an openness, power and ease that will define your future work.

CONTINUATION COURSES

I aim to run these courses at least once a month where students, post intro course, can come back and continue a progressive training with me for as long or as short a time as they desire.  The course is also open to actors who have done our training before and who want to re-visit the work and experiment further.   This is an opportunity for those actors who have busy week time commitments to still experience our training at their own pace, from basic improvisation right through to scene work and beyond.

ACTING FOR CASTINGS

This course deals specifically with the unique challenges of castings and auditions for commercials and dramas.  The course is open to working professional actors and models.  You will be shown ways of dealing with the nerves and stresses of acting castings along with some simple tools to help get you noticed and on that ‘pencilled’ list.  Attendance on one of my introduction course is highly desirable but not essential.

Course sizes are limited to 10 students.
